Prayer for Today, August 27
Lord God, we come before you today with thankful and grateful hearts. We thank you for all that you have done and the many blessings that you have bestowed upon us. We ask for your guidance and protection as we go through our daily lives. Help us to make wise decisions and follow your will in all that we do.
We pray for those who are struggling today, those who are dealing with physical or emotional pain, those who are facing financial hardship, and those who are in need of your comfort. Bring healing to their bodies and peace to their minds. Guide them towards the path of righteousness.
We also pray for our communities, our churches, and our nation. Give us strength to stand up for justice and truth in a world where they can seem in short supply. Give us courage to speak out against injustice and wrongdoings wherever they occur. Let us be a light that shines brightly even in darkness so that others may come to know you.
Finally Lord God, we ask for your grace as we strive each day to live our lives according to your Word. Open our hearts so that we can be filled with love for one another as well as ourselves; fill us with hope so that we may keep striving no matter how difficult life becomes; fill us with faith so that we may always believe in your goodness and mercy towards us all. Amen.
